About the Role
The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position offers a flexible and dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or the public at a government facility by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures; maintain awareness of visitor activity and restricted areas.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and logs for patrols, incidents, unusual conditions, and other security-related activities.
Requirements
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
