About the Role

This hands-on and technical Data Analyst role supports store operations and merchandising teams by building datasets, analyzing performance, and enabling better day-to-day decisions in stores. This is a 12-month contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Extract and manipulate large datasets (sales, inventory, product, store performance) using SQL
  • Clean and validate data to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting
  • Build and maintain datasets and data models to support reporting and analytics
  • Develop dashboards and reports (Power BI) to track store and merchandising performance
  • Support ad hoc analysis on assortment, pricing, promotions, and inventory movement
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in store execution and product performance
  • Translate business questions into data requirements and outputs
  • Troubleshoot data issues and support ongoing improvements in data quality and reporting processes
  • Deliver clearly defined outputs (datasets, dashboards, analysis) within timelines
  • Ramp quickly on existing data models, tools, and business context
  • Operate independently on technical tasks with guidance from senior team members
  • Support short-term priorities such as reporting builds, data validation, and deep-dive analysis

Requirements

  • Degree or certification in Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1–2 years of analytics experience or relevant co-op/internship
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and ensure data quality
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Clear communication — able to explain outputs in simple business terms

Skills

  • SQL (joins, aggregations, data transformation)
  • Advanced Excel (data manipulation, pivot tables)
  • Power BI or similar BI tools for dashboarding
  • Python for data processing or automation (asset)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake) (asset)
  • Retail, merchandising, or operations analytics (asset)
  • Basic data modelling concepts (asset)

  • Hybrid (In-office 4 days a week)
  • 12-month contract

Experience Level

  • 1-2 years of analytics experience or relevant co-op/internship

Salary/Compensations

  • $64,000 – $106,000
  • Typical hiring range: $64,000 – $85,000
