About the Role
Manage and coordinate the administrative and technical activities of the Microbiology and Anatomic Pathology laboratories. This role is responsible for overseeing the operations, patient testing, quality control, validations, inventory, regulatory compliance, and troubleshooting within these departments. The Supervisor will also implement key enterprise and local initiatives and oversee 9 Laboratory Staff members.
Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of the microbiology and anatomic pathology departments
- Manage patient testing, quality control, and validations
- Oversee inventory of reagents and supplies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise
- Resolve patient or instrument issues
- Implement key NYP enterprise and local initiatives
- Oversee 9 Laboratory Staff members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department
- Meets all requirements of the New York State Department of Health for a Laboratory Supervisor
- Minimum of 4 years’ progressive clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 1 year of experience with a Ph.D.
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP
