About the Role

The Food & Beverage Supervisor will assist in the complete operation of the Sports Grill, patio, skating/sports/curling and squash lounges, and sports bar, ensuring exceptional experiences for members.

Responsibilities

  • Manages service activities in multiple dining areas including Sports Grill, Family Bistro, Sports Bar, and various lounges.
  • Ensures well-staffed and smoothly running operations by supervising front staff.
  • Oversees professional and timely meal and beverage service by communicating with kitchen and serving staff.
  • Manages staffing, organization, and execution of events.
  • Works with staff on preparatory tasks before opening and closing.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels and ensures staff attend to their sections.
  • Fills front staff roles when needed and provides services to members and guests.
  • Maintains high cleanliness standards within the department.
  • Provides ongoing training to front staff.
  • Liaises between members, service staff, and the kitchen.
  • Addresses member complaints and staff-related issues, escalating to the Food & Beverage Manager as needed.
  • Communicates with other departments regarding event changes, member concerns, and emergencies.
  • Prepares bills and forms for functions, and manages paper supply orders and storage.
  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Club safety policies.
  • Conducts self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite).

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Smart Serve certification.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a hospitality-related industry, specifically in food services and preparation.
  • Understanding of computerized point of sale systems.
  • Working knowledge of Safety and Sanitation Regulations.
  • Knowledge of AGCO liquor laws is an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to de-escalate stressful situations with empathy and a member service mindset.
