About the Role
The Food & Beverage Supervisor will assist in the complete operation of the Sports Grill, patio, skating/sports/curling and squash lounges, and sports bar, ensuring exceptional experiences for members.
Responsibilities
- Manages service activities in multiple dining areas including Sports Grill, Family Bistro, Sports Bar, and various lounges.
- Ensures well-staffed and smoothly running operations by supervising front staff.
- Oversees professional and timely meal and beverage service by communicating with kitchen and serving staff.
- Manages staffing, organization, and execution of events.
- Works with staff on preparatory tasks before opening and closing.
- Maintains appropriate staffing levels and ensures staff attend to their sections.
- Fills front staff roles when needed and provides services to members and guests.
- Maintains high cleanliness standards within the department.
- Provides ongoing training to front staff.
- Liaises between members, service staff, and the kitchen.
- Addresses member complaints and staff-related issues, escalating to the Food & Beverage Manager as needed.
- Communicates with other departments regarding event changes, member concerns, and emergencies.
- Prepares bills and forms for functions, and manages paper supply orders and storage.
- Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Club safety policies.
- Conducts self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite).
Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- Smart Serve certification.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a hospitality-related industry, specifically in food services and preparation.
- Understanding of computerized point of sale systems.
- Working knowledge of Safety and Sanitation Regulations.
- Knowledge of AGCO liquor laws is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to de-escalate stressful situations with empathy and a member service mindset.
