About the Role

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing customers with technical support and services, including preventive maintenance, installation, site surveys, and demand and emergency services specifically related to digital cinema equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance on cinema projection equipment, digital signage, sound systems, servers, and power supplies.
  • Provides demand service for customers, determining and executing a support plan.
  • Tests electronic assembly, components, or parts using various equipment like ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, color meters, resistance bridges, oscilloscopes, and automatic or computerized test equipment.
  • Examines equipment and assemblies for defects, replaces defective components, repairs equipment, and performs field testing.
  • Resolves firmware and software issues.
  • Directs investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products.
  • Records, analyzes, and informs appropriate personnel of production quality, and sales departments of the status and disposition of customer complaints and claims using written and electronic reporting.
  • Installs electronic or digital equipment and tests it.
  • Records activities in Field Point daily, including work description, expenses, hours, labor, and travel.
  • Willing to take ownership and take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience with electronics related to the Pro-Av market.
  • Familiarity with computer and networking concepts and architecture.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required.
  • Requires a valid, state-issued driver’s license.
  • Requires the ability to stand, sit, squat, and bend for a period of time.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter who can find and resolve issues as they are identified.
  • Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization.

Location

  • In and out of market travel up to 70-80% of the time

Work Type

Education Level

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
