About the Role
The Retail Lending Trainer develops a skilled, knowledgeable, and compliant lending team to support organizational growth and performance. This role designs, delivers, and evaluates training programs aligned with business goals, regulatory requirements, and evolving industry standards, enhancing employee capability, improving client experience, and ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive training programs aligned with consumer and residential lending needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
- Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training sessions that build technical skills, sales effectiveness, and compliance knowledge.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through performance assessments, identifying skill gaps and recommending targeted development actions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in consumer and residential lending, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of compliance, systems, and best practices.
- Collaborate with lending leaders and stakeholders to identify training needs and deliver solutions that support operational performance and client experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Related experience in lending, training, or financial services preferred.
- Secondary education or certifications in training, education, or finance are a plus.
- A background screening will be conducted.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to individuals and groups.
- Proficiency in digital tools, LMS platforms, and lending systems (e.g., nCino, Empower, Salesforce, Loan Officer Digital) or the ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and interpret financial data, ratios, and performance metrics.
- Ability to analyze training needs, solve problems, and adapt learning solutions to complex business environments.
- Operates in a professional office environment with extended periods at a desk using standard office equipment.
- Noise level is moderate with frequent communication and collaboration.
- Frequent travel (quarterly) may be required to support training across market areas or attend off-site sessions.
