About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join our growing Online Banking delivery team. This role involves providing technology solutions and integration services for Digital Banking, Core banking, Credit/Charge/Debit Cards, and Foreign Exchange. The ideal candidate will offer technical guidance, estimate efforts, select optimal technology solutions, provide application support, navigate unknowns, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. This position requires rapid execution, strategic thinking, code development, and oversight of distributed teams, with a primary focus on developing and supporting Digital Banking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop technical solutions meeting user needs for functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Oversee proactive maintenance of existing Iaas/SaaS and on-premise applications within Digital Banking, Mobile, and integrating systems.
- Coordinate and assist with troubleshooting code defects, data errors, and configuration problems.
- Support business-critical and complex applications.
- Drive departmental best practices, guidelines implementation, and adherence to standards.
- Design and develop real-time integrations, file-based integrations, and optimize database processing.
- Create a superlative developer experience.
- Build elegant, maintainable, well-documented, secure code.
- Abstract and refactor code.
- Learn new things and go above and beyond.
- Improve yourself and constructively support the team.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team's technical growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance.
- Ability to navigate differing levels of gray/unknowns.
- Excellent communication skills with other IT management levels, individual contributors, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to move at a rapid rate of execution.
- Ability to navigate through resource constraints.
- Possess both short- and long-term strategic view.
- Ability to develop code and effectively oversee distributed development team members.
- Experience building applications using container architecture with Kubernetes orchestration.
- Worked on Agile projects and has complete knowledge of day to day Agile routines.
- Ability to interact with REST APIs and handle data fetching and manipulation.
- Proficient in using GITLAB for version control.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and ORACLE Database systems.
- Understanding of basic UI/UX design principles.
