About the Role
The Trillion Gene Atlas team is responsible for sample processing, including extraction, normalization, and library preparation, ensuring precision, reliability, and high throughput.
Responsibilities
- Run the daily sample processing pipeline, executing DNA extraction, normalization, and library preparation workflows.
- Operate and maintain laboratory automation, including automated liquid handling systems.
- Maintain accurate records in LIMS for all sample processing steps, QC data, and observations.
- Perform QC checks and flag anomalies at key pipeline stages.
- Support R&D protocol testing and optimization runs.
- Maintain a safe, organised lab environment, adhering to high standards of hygiene, reagent management, and safety compliance.
Requirements
- Hands-on laboratory experience in a molecular biology or life sciences setting.
- Practical experience with DNA extraction from biological or environmental samples using kit-based and automated methods.
- Comfortable working at high throughput with strong attention to detail.
- Experience using LIMS or equivalent electronic lab notebook for sample tracking and data recording.
- Ability to follow SOPs accurately, identify deviations, and escalate clearly and promptly.
Skills
- Automated liquid handling platforms (Hamilton, Tecan, Bravo, or similar)
- NGS library preparation workflows
- Environmental or metagenomic sample types
- CL2 lab certification or prior experience working with GMOs
- Sequencing technology
