About the Role

The Director, Admissions leads recruitment, admissions, and enrollment activities for the College of Osteopathic Medicine, developing and implementing strategies to attract highly qualified students while ensuring compliance with accreditation and institutional standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine Central Admissions Department for two campuses in New York and Arkansas.
• Develop and oversee implementation of policies and procedures, personnel, and the annual budget.
• Direct the total enrollment process for NYITCOM New York and Arkansas, coordinating with the Admissions Committee.
• Direct the total enrollment process of the Émigré Physicians Program (EPP).
• Maintain statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, forecasting, yield management, and operational efficiency.
• Direct and manage the NYITCOM application process, upgrading technological processes and managing applicant data reporting, interview scheduling, and student correspondence.
• Direct and manage the medical school applicant interview process.
• Chair the faculty interview committee.
• Create an effective candidate interview process that presents a positive view of the college.
• Develop and implement a marketing plan to promote visibility and generate an increasing pool of qualified and diverse applicants.
• Oversee Long Island on-campus recruitment programming, including Information Sessions/Campus Tours.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with key outside constituents to improve school visibility.
• Continuously evaluate and restructure admissions internal operations to improve workflow and effectiveness.
• Continually evaluate and upgrade the overall physical setup of the admissions offices to improve the COM image.
• Lead the admissions effort in restructuring special programs to improve student and program quality.
• Create regional recruitment programs targeting specific populations and develop electronic admissions processes.
• Create admissions processes for new master’s degrees and other special programs.
• Collaborate in the creation and implementation of numerous Articulation Agreements.
• Direct the team to develop and execute all department communication and promotional materials.
• Serve as a key member of the AACOM Council of Osteopathic Medicine Admissions Officers.
• Chair campus-based admissions decision committees, serve on the medical school central admissions committee, the central enrollment services committee, and the central student administration management team.
• Participate in planning of student events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience with professional school admissions.
• Knowledge of admissions recruitment planning.
• Knowledge of admissions process, educational systems, and requirements for internationally trained students.
• Ability to effectively manage staff and high-volume process at a multi-campus college.
• Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, alumni, and outside constituents.
• Ability to work independently, effectively, and accurately.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
