About the Role

PerkinElmer is seeking a Regional Product Manager to support the commercial organization in the NAM Region and implement the regional Inorganics strategy. This role coordinates between central product management and regional sales/marketing teams, providing product expertise, competitive response, and local market intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time product expertise to the regional sales team, answering technical/commercial questions, supporting demonstrations, and participating in key account meetings.
  • Lead regional competitive response by providing timely, accurate, and commercially useful guidance to the sales team regarding competitor actions.
  • Support regional sales management with product mix analysis, forecasting inputs, and portfolio utilization data.
  • Participate in distributor management, providing product training, commercial support, and competitive tools.
  • Lead regional execution of global product launches, adapting central plans to regional market conditions.
  • Coordinate with Regional Marketing Managers on launch campaigns, customer events, and demand generation activities.
  • Manage regional beta programs in partnership with the NPI PM, ensuring feedback is captured.
  • Deliver regional sales training on new product launches.
  • Serve as the regional intelligence feed to central product management, reporting competitive activity, customer feedback, and market developments.
  • Conduct customer conversations focused on market intelligence, including competitive usage, unmet needs, pricing, and regulatory trends.
  • Attend regional scientific conferences, trade shows, and customer events to gather intelligence and build KOL relationships.
  • Provide documented regional input on product requirements, pricing, and application priorities to the Strategic PM.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key regional customers, including opinion leaders and high-volume buyers.
  • Support key account teams with product-specific input for major tenders and strategic accounts.
  • Partner with the Applications Scientist to support customer demonstrations and application-specific support.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in product management, technical sales, applications science, or commercial marketing within analytical instrumentation or scientific equipment.
  • Broad working knowledge of at least one product line technology (atomic spectroscopy, chromatography, materials characterisation) and its key regional application markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively as a field-based specialist, managing multiple concurrent priorities with limited oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse technical and commercial audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned region (40–50%).
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in a relevant analytical or materials science discipline (preferred).
  • Direct hands-on laboratory experience with analytical instrumentation (preferred).
  • Prior experience in a field-based role requiring management of competing priorities without close supervision (preferred).
  • Native or near-native fluency in the primary commercial language of the assigned region (preferred).
