About the Role
Join our growing Westchester team at Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York (VRMNY) as a passionate Ophthalmic Scribe. We are looking for an innovative and motivated individual to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, expand their knowledge, gain valuable experience, and build meaningful relationships.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all legal and ethical requirements for medical documentation.
- Alert physician when medical record is incomplete or contains mistakes or inconsistencies.
- Collect, organize, and catalog data for physician quality reporting systems and other quality initiatives.
- Document medical visits and procedures accurately and thoroughly as they are performed.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist during physician examination.
- Perform clerical tasks including faxing, phone calls, and referral letters.
Requirements
- Experience or willingness to learn HVF, Lensometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Slit Lamp Microscopy, and basic patient work ups.
- Working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications.
