About the Role
This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of hygiene and sanitation within a food production facility, ensuring all areas meet strict regulations and are kept clean and well-stocked.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain food and non-food contact surfaces, including floors, drains, walls, windows, offices, restrooms, uniform rooms, cafeteria, and warehouse.
- Ensure all welfare areas meet hygiene standards and are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations as outlined in the Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures (SSOP).
- Perform cleaning and sanitizing of workstations, trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep of designated areas.
- Sort, count, and stack cleaning chemicals and janitorial supplies and distribute them as needed.
- Maintain cleaning tools and ensure proper usage and storage.
- Monitor and ensure drains are covered and free of accumulated debris.
- Report any issues related to hygiene, sanitation, or food safety to management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or sanitation roles within a food production facility is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow sanitation guidelines.
- Proactive, self-organized, and able to manage a substantial workload.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Capable of completing assigned tasks within strict deadlines.
- Physical ability to move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects as needed.
- Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
