About the Role
This role provides day-to-day leadership and technical mentoring to the claims team, ensuring the delivery of a cost-effective, professional, and customer-focused claims service, while developing staff and implementing quality initiatives. It has a significant focus on leadership, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the claims team delivers exceptional Customer Service in a manner that upholds the SIRA Customer Service Principles
- Manage the day to day operations of the Specialty Claims team – a hybrid portfolio of claims consisting of Medical Negligence, Historic Abuse and other claims
- Ensure the delivery of cost effective, professional and customer-focused claims service
- Lead quality assurance activities, including audit results, data integrity, process refinements
- Lead Tier 1 activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives and prevent any recurring or systemic incidents
- Manage team performance in line with team targets and service level agreements
- Ensure appropriate team capability with effective recruitment and staff development planning
- Provide day-to-day management and technical expertise to the team
- Manage approvals outside of team delegations in relation to payments, letters, declinatures, mediations, etc
Requirements
- At least 7 years insurance experience with 3 years management experience over your insurance career
- Strong technical expertise in General Liability, Historic Abuse and/or Professional Indemnity claims handling
- Ability to build and develop business relationship with clients and Service Providers
- Ability to comply with relevant state legislation
