About the Role
The Asian Art Museum is seeking as needed Security Guards to join their team. This is a Temporary Exempt (TEX) position, appointed at-will and exempt from civil service rules. Hours will be based on operational need, with no guarantee of work assignment or hours. Guards will be assigned to as-needed shifts at the museum.
Responsibilities
- Patrols public buildings and grounds to safeguard property against damage, hazardous situations or unauthorized entry.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Enforces rules and regulations governing the access to and use of public facilities.
- Prepares routine reports of time and work done.
- Patrols and safeguards facilities.
- Observes and is aware of the surrounding environment and recognizes potentially dangerous situations and reacts appropriately.
- Performs basic incidental duties as needed.
Requirements
- One year of verifiable experience as a security officer.
- Possession of a current California Security Guard Registration Card issued by the California State Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
- Possession of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
- Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
