About the Role

We are seeking a researcher who is fluent in current paradigms like VLAs and world models, and who has a vision for future advancements. Your research will directly set the company's roadmap, focusing on hypotheses that scale and generalize across diverse environments, tasks, and robots, tested rigorously against real-world performance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a long-term research roadmap with the research team.
  • Manage research directions from hypothesis generation to deployment.
  • Conduct architectural experimentation, pushing beyond current state-of-the-art.
  • Contribute to the data roadmap, including expert demonstrations and reinforcement learning.
  • Evaluate models by deploying them on robots and refining behavior based on real-world performance.
  • Develop maintainable and scalable machine learning infrastructure and research code.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and develop novel machine learning approaches.
  • Deep expertise and intuition in AI and robotics research, with experience deploying deep learning models onto physical robots.
  • Proficiency in state-of-the-art robot learning.
  • Ability to rapidly design and execute experiments, interpret results, and iterate.
  • Strong experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
  • Expert proficiency in Python.
  • Experience interfacing with complex infrastructure and debugging the full software stack.
