About the Role
Cornerstone Family Healthcare is seeking a Dental Assistant to join their team in Port Jervis, NY. This role provides chairside assistance to dental providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficient workflow.
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to dental providers during examination and treatment of patients.
- Prepare patients and operatory for dental treatment, including arranging instruments, materials, and medications.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Take, develop, mount, and file x-rays.
- Provide post-operative instructions and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Perform laboratory procedures, such as fabricating models from impressions.
- Perform routine maintenance of dental equipment.
- Monitor patient prosthesis by logging cases sent to and returned from the dental lab.
- Schedule patient appointments for prosthesis return.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment rooms and lab.
- Assist the front office with patient registration, filing, chart management, and appointment confirmation calls.
- Perform intake procedures, including obtaining medical histories, vital signs, and recording information in patient records.
- Attend and participate in department and staff meetings.
- Adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone, including patient, financial, and employee information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Dental Assistant Certificate or 2-4 years of experience working as a Dental Assistant
- Current BLS certification
- 4-day work week
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Flexibility in scheduling
- Some traveling required
