About the Role

This role owns the analytics across both routing and sortation, spotting when either side is off, working out why, and building the case for what to change. Your work splits between a daily operational rhythm and deeper investigations, and your analysis will directly influence operational decisions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health of each night's route plans, diagnosing issues when routes are inefficient or parcels are stranded.
• Track prediction accuracy for parcel arrivals, identifying causes for discrepancies and improving prediction rules.
• Act on findings by flagging issues to relevant teams and correcting plans when necessary.
• Monitor the route optimization engine and flag regressions.
• Quantify the impact of route design on courier productivity.
• Build reporting to diagnose the middle leg of the network (van journeys from sort centres to pick-up points).
• Partner with engineers to test and validate changes to routing systems.
• Investigate cost per parcel in sortation, identifying areas for savings and variance drivers.
• Track warehouse operative performance, including throughput, accuracy, and labor utilization.
• Monitor sorting robot efficiency and capacity, identifying bottlenecks.
• Build models to predict operative needs and automate workforce planning.
• Compare actual parcel volumes against retailer predictions and identify gaps.
• Define KPIs and build dashboards for routing and sortation performance.
• Work with commercial teams to set volume limits and delivery timings.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience, ideally with some exposure to logistics or another physical operation.
• Comfortable being the first point of contact when operational issues arise.
• Excited by cost and efficiency problems.
• Ability to navigate messy operational data and turn it into trusted metrics.
• Skilled in visualizing complex data for easy digestion.
• Comfortable working with operations teams and embedding analysis into workflows.
• Fluent in SQL and experienced with BI tools.
• Strong problem-solving instincts.
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
• Care about impact and measure success by operational improvement.
