About the Role

YuJa is seeking energetic and talented individuals with excellent analytical skills to transition from Physics to Software Engineering. This role is ideal for Physics graduates with a university degree and strong communication skills, offering a path into software engineering with a mix of business aptitude and academic expertise. Some experience with modern software tools and programming background is a plus.

Responsibilities

Create and implement thorough test plans and test cases in accordance with project specifications.
Manually test software to evaluate functionality and performance.
Document and communicate defects effectively, providing developers with precise information for resolution.
Conduct regression testing to verify that software alterations do not introduce new issues.
Meticulously maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Monitor testing progress and promptly report issues to project stakeholders.
Work under flexible hours, including evenings, midnight, and weekends.
Utilize online and remote-connecting software proficiently.
Function in a non-scripted helpdesk environment, examining, questioning, exploring, and troubleshooting a variety of issues.
Assess severity/impact level and prioritize support requests accordingly.
Escalate issues to the technical lead when necessary.

Requirements

Excellent time and task management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technically skilled with good problem-solving abilities.
Ability to provide timely responses to all incoming requests immediately or within 1 hour.
Ability to provide excellent follow-through on all open, pending, and resolved tickets.
1 year or more of basic technical support experience.
1 year or more of customer support experience.
Solid academic background.
Must be currently based in Canada.
