About the Role

Responsible for managing grocery operations, including financial targets, order fulfillment, sanitation, and inventory control of nonperishable merchandise to promote sales. Oversees grocery personnel and the entire store operation when scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service.
  • Handle and merchandise grocery products according to company policy.
  • Display complete knowledge of all grocery products to customers.
  • Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation.
  • Manage the grocery operation of a retail unit (dry grocery, dairy, frozen food, DSD).
  • Oversee GM and HBC departments in stores without a dedicated GM Manager, including financials and merchandising.
  • Control budgeting and financial aspects of the Grocery department (sales, gross margin, shrink, CTO, payroll).
  • Coordinate merchandising of all Grocery/General Merchandise products.
  • Ensure the Grocery Department is well-stocked and presented according to corporate standards.
  • Manage the total store operation in the absence of the Store Manager and Co-Manager.
  • Manage department associates, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to merchandising standards for grocery, dairy, and frozen food products.
  • Train and develop associates within the Grocery department.
  • Ensure adherence to sanitation and safety policies within the Grocery/General Merchandise department.
  • Ensure associates adhere to corporate and state pricing procedures.
  • Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other Department Managers on displaying merchandise and meeting delivery schedules.
  • Oversee the backroom area, including warehouse and vendor merchandise.
  • Ensure all authorized items are available in every set.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
  • Satisfactory performance reviews.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Salary/Compensations

  • $24.00 - $33.25
