About the Role

This role functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience, building competency in direct patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager. The nurse will contribute to unit activities, support the enhancement of the care delivery system, and assist peers in patient care services.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience.
  • Builds competency in the provision of direct patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
  • Contributes to unit activities.
  • Supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
  • Works FT/PT positions.
  • Works D/E/N and evenings, 8/10/12 hour shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Cares for a wide variety of patients in the OR, including specialties such as orthopedics, general surgery, plastics and reconstructive surgery, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma.
  • Utilizes two Davinci robots for urology and GYN procedures.
  • Participates in the transplant program involving livers, kidneys, and hearts.

Requirements

  • Requires a nursing degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Requires an active New York State RN license in good standing.
