Responsibilities

  • Assist with all administrative duties pertaining to residency, medical students and fellowship programs.
  • Coordinate House Staff application process.
  • Review residency applications and schedule interviews for applicants.
  • Send out appropriate correspondence.
  • Compile and maintain applicant data and interview results.
  • Enter results of applicants’ interviews into the computer for eventual match list development.
  • Organize and maintain applicants and current house staff files.
  • Organize and maintain charts for multi-level review.
  • Maintain all Residency Review Committee required documentation.
  • Responsible for collection and tracking evaluations of house staff performance.
  • Monitor and follow up on house staff compliance with administrative procedures including medical record completion and internal evaluation exercises.
  • Report directly to Program Director on issues of non-compliance.
  • Coordinate affiliation agreements related to training programs and serve as a liaison between area hospitals.
  • Compile all program documentation and appropriate statistical data.
  • Facilitate all associated administrative activities.
  • Maintain resident’s files for current and former residents in accordance with ACGME requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and related experience with graduate medical education (GME).
  • Demonstrated customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department.
  • Employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Skills

  • Knowledge of National Resident Mapping Program
  • Knowledge of Electronic Residency Application Service programs
