About the Role
This position is responsible for leading the operation of HOOPP’s P&L system (Ortec Pearl), associated data flows and warehousing, and solutioning for automated and ad-hoc investment reporting. The role requires a detailed understanding of HOOPP’s investment products & strategies, trade flow and data lifecycle processes, underlying systems, data structures and IT architecture. The individual will also have broader responsibilities within the Investment Reporting & Analytics group, interacting with various departments and assisting on cross-functional projects.
Responsibilities
- Steward Investment Performance data lifecycle and warehousing, ensuring data integrity and optimized processes for release.
- Lead the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of the P&L system, recommending and implementing optimizations.
- Lead analysis, integrations, and testing of new products/functionality as part of cross-functional teams.
- Build and maintain cross-functional reports and automation solutions using tools like Qlik, Python, Snowflake, Excel, Power BI, SAP Hana.
- Develop a deep understanding of HOOPP’s Portfolio and Deal Structures, including all securities within strategies.
- Contribute to decisions related to HOOPP’s Data Architecture for Investment Reporting, Data Governance & Valuations.
- Analyze, monitor, and confirm the methodologies and accuracy of calculations impacting reports.
- Design and implement automated solutions for data quality monitoring, evaluation, and exception-based handling.
- Coordinate with other teams on project completion, capture and document requirements, and communicate them effectively.
- Advise on preferred solutions and validate/accept related deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with internal clients to ensure requirements are met and solutions are validated.
- Lead and mentor Analysts/Senior Analysts within the Performance Systems team.
- Continuously look for process improvements and new, value-add initiatives.
- Interface various internal systems to analyze data transformation and flows, making recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with IT teams to deliver robust, well-designed automated solutions while mitigating risks.
- Learn and stay current with key processes supported by or impacting the team.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in technical or related fields (e.g., Finance, IT, Mathematics, Information Systems).
- 7+ years in a business-focused technical role within the Investment industry.
- Working knowledge of diverse asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives and Alternatives).
- 5+ years configuring and maintaining middle office systems.
- Expert proficiency with SQL, spreadsheets, and database applications (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle, SAP Hana).
- 5+ years leading projects.
- Working knowledge of SaaS concepts, SDLC, and DevOps processes.
- Proven ability to perform requirement analysis, author documentation, communicate with stakeholders, and drive UAT execution and implementation.
- Experience developing reports using a range of Business Intelligence Tools (e.g., Qlik, Power BI), including data models.
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Diligent with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think conceptually and creatively, looking for new ways of doing work.
- Able to work independently with minimal direction as well as part of a team.
- Works well under pressure, handles concurrent tasks, and meets prescribed deadlines.
