About the Role
The Credit Manager will lead credit operations and support healthy receivables across a multi-location retail organization.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate credit applications, verify financial information, and determine creditworthiness.
- Onboard new customer accounts and maintain accurate, compliant account records.
- Post customer payments daily, manage till application, and ensure proper reconciliation.
- Monitor outstanding balances, negotiate payment terms, and manage collection activity for delinquent accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies, review account history, and communicate clear resolutions.
- Respond to inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account status.
- Review and correct tax-related billing issues.
- Analyze and determine credit limits for new and existing charge customers.
- Collaborate with attorneys or collection agencies when escalation is required.
- Identify and recommend non-collectible accounts for write-off.
- Generate and distribute monthly statements.
- Participate in quarterly reviews with credit managers and the finance team.
- Implement and reinforce company credit policies, goals, and procedures.
Requirements
- Limited remote work available.
- Limited travel throughout CT, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, and VT is expected.
Skills
- Spanish speaking
- Accounts Receivable, cash application, or account reconciliation experience
- Multi-location and multi-state retail experience
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong analytical and basic math skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers
