About the Role

This role supports commercial decision-making, profitability analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and reporting capabilities. The successful candidate will partner with stakeholders, analyze commercial performance, and drive business growth through financial insights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed margin and promotional analysis to identify opportunities for improved profitability.
  • Partner with business leaders and key stakeholders to provide commercial analysis that supports strategic decision-making and business growth.
  • Maintain, update, and further develop the weekly commercial trading pack.
  • Support the group FP&A team with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Work closely with the Data Team to ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful reporting.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and support key business projects as required.
  • Provide insight into trading performance, profitability, and business trends.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvements to reporting processes and financial analysis capabilities.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA, or equivalent) completed or nearing completion.
  • Minimum of 3 years' finance experience, including at least 1 year in a commercial finance role.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and analytical modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of profit and loss statements and key business performance drivers.
  • Experience within a retail and/or e-commerce environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and translating data into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across the business.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, "can-do" attitude and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Financial modelling and experience using Power BI or other business intelligence/data reporting tools are definite assets.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A processes.
  • A collaborative approach and confidence in business partnering with senior leaders.
  • A focus on continuous improvement and delivering high-quality financial insight.
