About the Role

Provide world-class jobsite leadership for large, long-duration, high-profile projects for Vertiv power and/or thermal equipment. Act as the primary on-site technical representative from construction start through project completion, fostering excellent customer rapport and collaborating with the Project Manager to ensure cost controls, schedule adherence, resource management, and a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide jobsite construction and technical leadership for large projects.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary on-site team including Project Leaders, Installers, Technicians, Customer Engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Represent Vertiv at daily customer meetings, discussing technical requirements and coordinating on-site activities.
  • Lead and support start-up and site testing activities, ensuring adequate manpower and assisting as needed.
  • Provide daily status reports to Service Management, Project Management, and sales representatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of Vertiv equipment start-up and commissioning processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Stay current on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips.
  • Lead daily Vertiv toolbox talks, pre-job safety walks, and inspections, driving corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to all site and Vertiv safety policies.
  • Operate safely in accordance with published safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Adhere to work hours policy guidelines.
  • Report all work-related accidents or injuries within 24 hours.
  • Act as a safety role model, utilizing STOP WORK Authority and Good Catch engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to the Vertiv Warranty process in partnership with the Project Manager.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting, including timecards, expense reports, and SR/task closures.
  • Support the Project Manager with necessary technical data.
  • Maintain company property according to company policies.
  • Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure daily alignment of customer expectations with Vertiv activity.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction rates according to company guidelines.
  • Make decisions based on Safety, Quality, Timeliness, Cost, and Productivity.
  • Make timely technical and commercial decisions under pressure.
  • Maintain productive utilization rates.
  • Adhere to company dress code and safety regulations.
  • Understand and comply with company startup/escalation processes.
  • Lead by example and conduct oneself aligned with Vertiv Behaviors.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Handle stressful situations and provide a calming effect to customers.
  • Exhibit a high level of diplomacy when interacting with customers.

Requirements

  • ASEET or ASMET preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience, specifically leading and actively participating in start-up and commissioning of power and/or hvac equipment preferred.
  • Six years’ military experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Industrial construction management.
  • Vertiv Behavior practitioner.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Able to build and maintain trusting customer relationships.
  • Collaborative and cooperative in high-stress environments.
