About the Role

The Site Assistant supports the execution of SEO Scholars’ Summer Academy operations, including technology maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring the seamless operation of our technology-driven educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and checking in scholars, instructors, and program staff.
• Answering questions regarding the day’s events and directing SEO community members to different spaces on campus.
• Setting up program technology such as attendance trackers, barcode scanners, and Zoom chat.
• Providing project and adapter support as needed.
• Distributing and tracking requested items such as Metrocards, instructor totebags, and any technology loaned out for the day.
• Picking up and distributing scholar lunch on-site.
• Providing support for end-of-day closing procedures.
• Completing biweekly inventory.
• Moving program materials to storage.
• Replenishing snacks.
• Projecting an energetic, engaging, and approachable persona to promote students’ connection to the program, investment in the learning experience, and positive relationship to all members of the community.

Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation, and ability to multitask and handle challenging priorities.
• Highly resourceful and solutions-oriented; flexible to work either in-person or virtual environments when needed.
• Comfortable with and skilled at working with and navigating technological learning systems.
• Sound judgement, maturity and ability to communicate and serve as a role model to high school students.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Can lift and carry boxes up to 30 pounds.
