About the Role
Barrick is seeking a Jr. Geologist to support exploration success by enabling high-quality geoscientific data throughout its lifecycle. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, leveraging geoinformation systems, and contributing to digital and data-driven initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collect geologic data, mapping, sampling, RC chip and core logging
- Identify lithology, alteration and mineralogy associated with gold systems
- Ensure data integrity and implementation of QAQC procedures
- Data synthesis, compilation, and geologic interpretation to support targeting
- Support drill program execution and ensure zero harm
- Deliver regular progress reports and presentations
- Interpret downhole televiewer data and apply to drill targeting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline required
- Experience with GIS platforms, including configuration, administration, or customization preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills required
- Proactive mindset with the ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively across teams preferred
