About the Role

Supervise the quality department, ensuring total product quality, cost management, safety, compliance, GMPs, and executing QA/QC protocols. Oversee quality assurance functions, process controls, and personnel to meet plant quality service objectives. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance schedules, record monitoring, personnel development, process improvements, and departmental cost performance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision and utilization of laboratory, water treatment, syrup blending, sanitation, and microbiological equipment, raw materials, quality processes, and people in a food production/packaging environment.
  • Optimize resources to ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications and manufacturing standards, adhering to FDA, CFIA, USDA, GMPs, HACCP, and other governmental policies and regulations.
  • Act as Quality Manager during their absence.
  • Monitor production and warehousing processes and practices to ensure satisfactory controls for safety and security of finished products.
  • Collaborate with the internal management team to schedule tasks related to quality compliance.
  • Oversee daily QA and QC inspections to ensure all products meet compliance standards.
  • Write, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Supervise accurate and timely reporting of work documentation and records to ensure integrity and retention requirements.
  • Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ensure employee GMP compliance.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in hot/cold/wet environments with loud machinery, fumes, and moving vehicles.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and keep records.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and Word.
