About the Role

The Direct Support Professional provides self-care training and assistance in daily living to individuals with developmental disabilities residing in a group respite setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized care as outlined in the individuals Life Plan, or ISP.
  • Assists Individuals in the primary activities of daily living (toileting, feeding, cooking, cleaning) as outlined in individual's ISP to promote independence.
  • Maintains files and produces service notes and documentation on assigned caseload.
  • Documents and submits reports to the program as outlined in the assigned department.
  • Maximizes consumer's social skills in order to enable him/her to live in their community by providing activities in a community setting.
  • Provide 24-hour supervision, care, and guidance to residents.
  • Assist with personal care needs, cleaning, cooking, medications, and activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid NYS driver's license
  • 12 months driving history

Work Type

  • Day Shifts Available
  • Weekend Shifts Available

Experience Level

  • Six months to one-year related experience and or training preferred

Education Level

  • High school diploma or GED

Salary/Compensations

  • New Hiring Rate: $20.00
