Responsibilities
- Execute on daily securities lending processes, working with the Senior Manager and Team Lead, Securities Lending Operations, Trading Desk, and other Operations Associates.
- Process returns from counterparties and support the loan recall process to maintain positioning.
- Ensure timely loan and return settlement and resolve related issues.
- Collaborate with traders, product managers, engineering, and other operations teams to ensure effective and timely trade flow and settlement.
- Communicate with counterparties via email or on calls to execute on loans and recalls, and resolve discrepancies.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in transactions.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of records and assist with audit requests.
- Support front-office operations related to corporate actions and daily market movement.
- Support billing and month-end processes.
- Represent Wealthsimple in interactions with external counterparties and cultivate industry relationships.
- Support the development of operational procedures for the Options business.
- Support the treasury team with cash movements, including billing.
- Support the onboarding of new counterparties.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working at a broker-dealer, bank, capital markets firm, or pension fund.
- A background in finance, accounting, business, or a related technical field.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to operate within tight deadlines.
- Teams in this role typically start their day around 7:30am ET.
Skills
- Strong technical skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas and pivot tables.
