About the Role

Provide treatment and support to assist patients in their recovery from substance use, eating disorders or other behavioral problems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct group and/or family sessions, under supervision, and document as required.
  • Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.
  • Perform initial and follow-up patient assessments.
  • Prepare individual treatment plans for assigned patients.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care, treatment, and incidents.
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients.
  • Provide crisis intervention to patients as needed.
  • Plan aftercare for assigned patients.
  • Act as a liaison with insurance carriers.
  • Provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care.
  • Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are necessary.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers, acknowledging and resolving complaints, and prioritizing patient safety.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process required.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
  • Completion of ongoing education and training as required by the state and applicable accrediting body.

Education Level
