About the Role
As an Assistant Machine Operator, you'll work alongside experienced Machine Operators to help produce high-quality corrugated packaging while learning valuable manufacturing and printing skills. Responsibilities
- Support the operation of high-speed manufacturing and printing equipment while ensuring products meet quality and safety standards.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and changeover of high-speed manufacturing and printing equipment.
- Load raw materials into machines to maintain continuous production.
- Remove, palletize, and prepare finished products for shipment.
- Assist the Machine Operator with machine adjustments to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Inspect products for quality and report any issues to the Machine Operator.
- Follow production specifications, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S standards.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately measure to 1/16 of an inch.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and production specifications.
- Willingness to learn and operate multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Experience working with printing inks, PMS colors, or GCMI color standards is preferred.
- Previous experience operating high-speed manufacturing or printing equipment is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and commitment to workplace safety.
