About the Role

The Ancillary Clinical Educator facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates training programs for ancillary healthcare staff, supporting various clinical roles. This position is crucial for organization-wide clinical education initiatives like De-escalation and Workplace Violence Prevention, and Basic Life Support (BLS), ensuring staff maintain competencies for high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate onboarding and ongoing training programs for ancillary healthcare roles.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate structured training curricula and competency-based education programs.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and role-specific training, ensuring completion of required competency assessments.
  • Provide re-education and remediation training for existing staff based on identified gaps or changes.
  • Prepare and maintain engaging, up-to-date educational materials and instructional resources.
  • Adjust schedule to support training across all shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Serve as a certified instructor for BLS, De-Escalation, phlebotomy, etc., planning and delivering certification courses.
  • Track and monitor certification status for ancillary staff, coordinating timely recertification.
  • Evaluate and document employee competency, maintaining accurate training and competency records.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, committees, and work groups.
  • Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of experience in an ancillary healthcare role (e.g., PCT, CNA, Phlebotomy, BHT, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, and motivate others; prior training, preceptor, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to adapt training materials to a variety of learning styles and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to operate audiovisual and instructional equipment.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations within MVHS, as needed.
  • Prior experience in teaching or training of adult learners or formal knowledge of adult learning theory preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC and clinical workflow training preferred.

  • $61,611.49 - $88,104.10
