About the Role

The Presales team plays a key role in providing technical expertise, thought leadership, and acting as a trusted advisor for customers and partners. This role focuses on the Cybersecurity solutions, offering significant growth opportunities and completing the HPE Networking portfolio. As the Manager Cybersecurity Presales for the DACH Region, you will build and manage a team of Presales Architects, working closely with sales teams and the partner ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Own the presales contribution to business results and KPIs in the region.
  • Partner with sales to drive sales strategy and account planning.
  • Proactively assess sales pipelines in areas of control.
  • Monitor and manage resource assignment and utilization, leveraging local and remote resources.
  • Collaborate across organizational boundaries to represent a constructive "voice-from-the-field" presence in business decision-making and product design.
  • Coach, assess, and manage employee performance to ensure individual and group excellence aligned with HPE cultural principles.
  • Lead and support the team to build necessary skills and evolve their sales approach.
  • Employ a financial and as-a-Service selling approach to meet customer needs and build business cases.
  • Represent the HPE Strategy and act as an evangelist for the new Cybersecurity Portfolio internally and externally.
  • Build and maintain cybersecurity expertise across the DACH presales organization through coaching, technical enablement, certifications, reusable architectures, and field mentoring.
  • Ensure consistent security messaging and architectural positioning across networking, SASE, SSE, data-center security, identity, and cloud-security opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and escalation support for strategic customer opportunities, competitive situations, technically complex proofs of concept, and cybersecurity-related customer concerns.
  • Build and maintain an active relationship with decision-makers and thought leaders in the management of ecosystem partners and customers.
  • Build and maintain a motivated high-performance team recognized as thought leaders and evangelists for the new Cybersecurity portfolio.

Requirements

  • University or Bachelor's degree.
  • Typically 10-12+ years’ experience in technical sales or sales-related functions.
  • Ability to combine strong technical acumen with business skills.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to motivate others.
  • Deep understanding of modern enterprise security architectures and the HPE product line, including SASE, Security Service Edge, Zero Trust, secure SD-WAN, network access control, and hybrid-mesh firewall architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of network and security technologies, including NGFW, IDS/IPS, IPsec, TLS inspection, VPN/ZTNA, SWG, CASB, DLP, and identity-based access controls.
  • Ability to guide teams through complex security discovery, threat and risk discussions, architecture design, competitive positioning, and technical validation.
  • Experience leading customer workshops, executive briefings, architecture whiteboarding sessions, demonstrations, and proofs of concept for enterprise cybersecurity solutions.
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management concepts, including MFA, SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, RBAC, and least-privilege access models.
  • Understanding of security operations and integrations across SIEM, SOAR, XDR, EDR, AI SecOps, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and incident-response ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks relevant to DACH customers, such as NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK, GDPR, NIS2, and DORA, where applicable.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude to drive new approaches and develop new businesses.
  • Excellence in communication, presentation, and negotiation, especially with C-level clients.
  • Ability to coach and supervise a team and develop strong relationships within HPE and with customers and partners.
  • Business proficiency in German and English language.
