About the Role

Broward College is seeking a part-time teaching position to contribute to its mission of fostering student success, academic achievement, and persistence. The ideal candidate will share the college’s commitment to educating students and supporting the educational attainment and economic well-being of the student population and the surrounding community.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mastery of their specific discipline, a deep commitment to the college mission, technological competence, and the ability to engage students effectively.
• Employ teaching methods to accommodate various academic preparations and incorporate engaging technology across different instruction modalities.
• Facilitate the needs of different learners by implementing responsive pedagogical techniques and effective student engagement practices.
• Examine and adapt instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support students.
• Engage in student consultation, course preparation, review of course outlines, and preparation of course syllabi.
• Provide prompt and constructive support to students through regular office hours and timely feedback.
• Provide prompt feedback to student emails.
• Adhere to all reporting deadlines such as grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption.
• Participate in service to the college and its community.

Requirements

• Prior college teaching experience is preferred.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Commitment to teaching.
• Willingness to work office hours, which may include evening and/or weekend hours.
• Resume detailing educational and professional experience, including a list of courses taught.
• Transcript showing conferred degree and conferral date.
• Foreign transcripts must include a foreign transcript evaluation.
• Completed online employment application form.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background screening.
• Must complete an I-9 Form and provide documentation of identity for employment purposes.

• Master's Degree in Anatomy, Physiology, or a Biological Science subfield or medical, Dental, or Medical Science Master’s Degree OR Master’s Degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Anatomy, Physiology, Biological Science, or Medical Science subfield.

Salary/Compensations

• $2,286 - $2491.02 (Salary commensurate with education and experience)
