About the Role

Supporting our consumer business, this role will work closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Manager to support monthly reporting, financial analysis, and day-to-day finance operations. This is an ideal role for someone early in their finance career keen to learn, develop commercial awareness, and build a long-term career in management accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting month-end reporting activities, including journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation
  • Assisting with cost analysis and reporting
  • Supporting ad-hoc analysis and insight requests from the wider business
  • Building relationships with stakeholders across finance and operational teams
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Supporting the Management Accountant and Finance Manager with ongoing reporting and commercial projects

Requirements

  • A genuine interest in finance and commercial performance
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to understand the story behind the numbers
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to ask questions
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
  • Confidence working with data and spreadsheets
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • A positive mindset and willingness to learn from feedback
  • Degree in Accounting & Finance or similar discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Studying towards, or interested in studying towards, ACCA/CIMA
  • Comfortable using Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Experience working with large data sets or financial reporting
