About the Role
Monzo Wealth is seeking a Director of Investments and Pensions to lead a strategically important growth area. The role involves translating the Wealth strategy into a customer, commercial, and growth agenda for Investments and Pensions, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to identify opportunities, make recommendations, and drive cross-functional alignment for measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Driving business growth and customer outcomes by identifying and sizing new products, partnerships, and market opportunities.
- Developing compelling business cases and securing buy-in from senior stakeholders.
- Owning the commercial growth agenda, developing monthly growth plans for acquisition, transfers, engagement, and retention.
- Developing pricing recommendations and business cases in partnership with Finance and Product.
- Shaping the investment proposition by evaluating asset range performance and defining its target state.
- Evaluating asset selection across Ready-Made Funds, ETFs, and ETCs, including ongoing due diligence and fair value assessments.
- Identifying potential new partnerships for the investment proposition.
- Building a compelling customer proposition by partnering with Product squads.
- Ensuring plans focus on key customer outcomes and commercial opportunities.
- Providing deep Investments expertise across guidance, targeted support, educational content, and family wealth.
- Scaling Investments and Pensions into Europe by owning the relevant workstream in market-entry planning.
- Collaborating with country, regulatory, product, and operational teams to understand local market dynamics.
- Leading through influence, managing and coaching a high-performing team.
- Influencing cross-functional squads working across Investments and Pensions.
- Bringing teams together to deliver by working across Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Data, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and external partners.
- Translating complex opportunities into clear plans, high-quality decisions, and measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- Significant experience scaling consumer investment businesses.
- Experience operating at a senior leadership level.
- Strong commercial judgment and data literacy.
- Ability to translate customer, market, and performance insights into clear recommendations and actions.
- Comfortable moving between strategy and execution.
- Ability to see the bigger picture and break down ambiguous problems into practical steps.
- Ability to move quickly to deliver.
- Deep Investments expertise applicable to investment propositions, asset selection, due diligence, pricing, and customer outcomes within a regulated environment.
