About the Role

The Operations Manager will be directly responsible for delivering two prestigious Trade Fairs in the UK, reporting into the Senior Operations Manager. This role involves working closely with an Operations Co-ordinator to ensure all sponsorship deliverables are executed to the highest standard, contributing to show budgets and operational plans, and managing various supplier relationships. Attendance onsite for periods of time at events is required. This role offers an opportunity for professional self-development in staging large-scale events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on projects including general contractor liaison, feature build, catering, cleaning, signage, security, and staffing.
  • Contribute to the operational budget in partnership with the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Provide operational advice and assistance to the sales, content, and marketing teams.
  • Manage floorplan layouts with sales personnel, ensuring compliance with venue and regulatory requirements.
  • Help train and develop the Operations Co-ordinator to achieve high performance.
  • Ensure effective control and monitoring of health and safety standards at the exhibition.
  • Continually provide the best possible customer service for clients.
  • Manage the design and build of feature areas to specifications and budget.
  • Own and update sponsorship trackers with new options, contact details, and package information.
  • Research and suggest new sponsorship options, including promotional merchandise, onsite signage, and external venues for parties.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all sponsors, updating logos and company information.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of all sponsorship packages across functions (content, marketing, and ops).

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of proven events management experience in exhibitions is essential.
  • Customer care experience.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Production experience across exhibitions/conferences is desired.
  • A high level of computer literacy, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Health & Safety training including IOSH qualification.
  • Time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours when events are live.
