About the Role
The Community Recreation Support Professional is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the Recreation Respite Program, as well as other recreation activities and leisure services within agency programs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, promote, implement, and facilitate recreation activities, including spontaneous programs.
- Research interactive activities, create calendars, prepare activities, provide supplies, and facilitate programming for Day Habilitation and Residential programs.
- Foster and promote independent leisure pursuits of participants by providing necessary tools and supplies.
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of all recreation equipment and supplies.
- Assist with creating program calendars for all recreation activities.
- Transport participants to recreation and leisure activities as needed.
- Strive to meet the American Therapeutic Recreation (ATRA) Standards of Practice.
- Provide supervision and direct care responsibilities with program participants.
- Address and report all incidents, accidents, violations, deficiencies, or suspected situations impacting the health and safety of individuals receiving services.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Some direct experience working with individuals with functional differences is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and a record that meets the agency's insurance carrier guidelines.
