About the Role

We are seeking a skilled manager with comprehensive automobile, heavy truck and trailer, and gas and diesel mechanic expertise. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving all mechanical issues to ensure maximum reliability and functionality. The position also requires knowledge of plant HVAC systems, general fabrication equipment, variable speed drives, and Predictive Preventative Maintenance systems. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for serving internal and external customers professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings
  • Disassemble and reassemble components and engines
  • Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective
  • Identify mechanical problems, often by using diagnostic equipment
  • Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly
  • Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune-ups, checking fluid levels, brake replacement and rotating tires
  • Explain automotive problems and repairs to internal clients
  • Repair shop equipment: Industrial machinery (Metal Cutting Saws, MIG and TIG Electric and Gas-powered Welders, Steel Plate Rollers, Press Brakes, etc.), Aerial Lifts, Gas, Diesel and electric Fork-trucks
  • Perform all duties according to safety procedures documented in C&J Safety Program
  • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
  • Keep logs on work and issues
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
