About the Role
The Aircraft Appearance Agent is responsible for ensuring the interior of aircraft is clean, well-stocked, and flight-ready in accordance with airline and safety standards. This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement and may vary based on customer contract needs.
Responsibilities
- Equip airplane cabin with necessary equipment and supplies according to checklist specifications.
- Carry supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. on board aircraft.
- Check condition, clean, sort, count, salvage, and/or store equipment.
- Assemble kits.
- Operate vacuum cleaner and similar mechanized cleaning aids.
- Check deliveries of supplies against requisitions to identify discrepancies.
- Perform aircraft interior cleaning and equip the cabin for flight according to specifications.
- Clean aircraft interior by hand or with powered equipment using cleaners.
- Complete the aircraft cleaning bill of work as required.
- Stock and clean vehicles used for cleaning.
- Stock and clean the cabin service make-up rooms area.
- Stock and maintain cabin service kits.
- Dispose of trash, rubbish, and waste incidental to job functions.
- Use cleaning fluids and materials such as washing solutions, scrapers, squeegees, wringer pails, and vacuum cleaners.
- Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
Requirements
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
- This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), requiring joining the TWU and paying union dues.
- Must be able to perform functions in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise.
- Lift refuse containers weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Reach, bend, and twist in confined spaces to hand clean aircraft interiors, including meal trays, ash trays, lavatories, overhead storage bins, and buffets.
- Ability to judge distances.
- Report to work on time when scheduled.
