About the Role
Based in the London office, you will be responsible for the steering of the financial performance in your assigned portfolio, with a dedicated focus on Facility & Portfolio Solutions. You will work directly with the business and perform planning, reporting and analysis to ensure your stakeholders’ understanding of monthly results, supporting the decision-making process and portfolio steering by continuously challenging financial performance. You will play a key role in building bridges between our Finance and Underwriting departments as well as sharing best practice within GPS and the wider finance community. This is an excellent career opportunity for someone who has significant experience within the insurance or reinsurance environment and can combine this with superior stakeholder management and business acumen skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent and comprehensive business steering support
- Identify key drivers, risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to senior management
- Drive and ensure quality assurance for financial reporting and enabling both global business steering as well as transparency on financial performance
- Present transparent conclusions and robust financial commentary to enable decision-making
- Coordinate regular reporting, forecasting and planning processes
- Support Business Partnering & Steering leadership team on ad-hoc topics and projects
Requirements
- Significant experience in insurance or reinsurance
- Proven expertise in planning and performance management, in particular analysis of financial statements and performance metrics specific to insurance or reinsurance
- Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively, to a variety of stakeholders including senior management
- At ease working in a global team, maintaining effective remote relationships
- Analytical and problem-solving ability, able to provide insight in complex situations
- Ability to manage projects (milestone and task planning, managing resources, controlling, monitoring, reporting, moderating) and to develop solutions while considering complex stakeholder structures and requirements
- Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills, as well as SAP experience for reporting
- Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
