About the Role

The HR Manager will act as an advisor to leaders and staff, advocate for employees, and help execute global projects. This role is responsible for leading people matters in the UK, Jersey, and Italy, ensuring HR operations align with firm and local legal requirements. The position reports to the CHRO and is part of the global HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all people matters in regions and ensure all HR operations align with the firm’s requirements and local legal requirements in the UK, Jersey and Italy.
  • Proactively address employee relations issues with leaders and provide coaching on how to handle, ensuring consistency in approach and mitigating risk for the firm.
  • Oversee and support the payroll process for regions, working closely with the global payroll team.
  • Keeping up to date with local legislative changes and updating contracts and policies where required.
  • Leverage tools to provide metrics and reporting that will help drive people decisions such as engagement metrics and turnover metrics.
  • Collaborate with global HR team members across regions (Payroll, L&D, Benefits, HRIS) to roll out key HR transformation projects such as new process and system implementations, policies/procedures and the related automation when applicable.
  • Ensure company’s procedures comply with employment regulations in the supported countries and implement the appropriate ones when required.
  • Ensure employee issues and concerns are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Oversee onboarding and off boarding activities.
  • Monitor immigration matters, partnering with our third-party immigration law firm to include applying for visas, and tracking the status and all activity.
  • Manage a team of two (2): a HR Generalist and a HR Specialist both based in London ensuring continuous learning and development.
  • Occasional travelling is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of HR experience; preferably in financial services.
  • Previous exposure to employment law in UK (Jersey and Italy desirable).
  • Analytical reasoning and solution-focused problem solver with the ability to think critically and independently.
  • Ability to drive to results, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Innovative in approaching situations and responsible to be an advocate for change.
  • Capable of synthesizing information concisely and easily.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined individual with analytical skills; capability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Works well under pressure; flexible work style.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
