About the Role

West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns to join our Office of the CFO Advisory Practice. As a CFO Advisory Consulting Intern, you will use your skills to transform our clients’ accounting, budgeting, planning, and financial reporting processes through process improvements, technology enhancements, AI and automation, organization redesign, and operating model refinements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a project team to assist client Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities in financial close, reporting, forecasting, and analytics.
  • Assess current state business processes, organization, and technology enablement within the Office of the CFO.
  • Analyze and identify areas for alignment between business strategy, finance strategy, and IT strategy.
  • Develop transformational roadmaps to modernize and optimize clients’ financial processes, technologies, and workforce.
  • Contribute to technology selection and implementation efforts (e.g., ERP).
  • Assess current-state business and IT application landscapes.
  • Develop and align IT strategy with key business objectives and create future-state roadmaps.
  • Support the software selection process, including documenting client requirements, evaluating vendors, and recommending optimal solutions.
  • Participate in implementations, including key project management activities and core implementation supporting tasks such as design, configuration, testing, and deployment of platforms.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%).
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
