About the Role

Austin Commercial is seeking an Assistant Superintendent II for its Aviation division. Join a leading construction firm and contribute to building landmark projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist the superintendent in reviewing project documents, submittals, and schematics.
• Assist in planning jobsite layout, initiating startup activities, and designating material storage and work areas.
• Direct field engineers in jobsite survey and layout, ensuring accuracy of dimensional control lines and elevations.
• Plan daily and weekly activities for each craft, providing technical instructions and resolving plan ambiguities.
• Oversee overall jobsite safety, including implementation of safety plans and procedures.
• Order self-performed building materials, supplies, and small tools.
• Inspect all field construction work, ensuring high-quality workmanship and addressing deficiencies.
• Provide technical guidance and assist in resolving construction problems, investigating alternative work methods and materials.
• Monitor weekly labor costs for accuracy and conformance with budget, and investigate schedule delays.
• Monitor equipment use, maintenance, and cost throughout the project.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local construction laws, ordinances, and codes.
• Manage the scheduling of all governmental inspections.
• Administer the company Safety & Health Manual and ensure employee health and safety.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with owners, architects, and other stakeholders.
• Perform project close-out tasks, including punch lists, demobilization, and as-built documents.
• Maintain detailed and accurate daily reports of field construction activities.

Requirements

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering or related field and 2+ years of commercial construction experience, OR 6+ years of commercial construction trade experience in lieu of a college degree.
• Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year of employment).
• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Austin Commercial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
