About the Role
As the Women's Health Editor, you will run the print arm of the brand, managing daily copy flow to ensure the highest standards, implementing a content strategy to maintain market leadership, and producing additional print products like bookazines and supplements.
Responsibilities
- Run the print arm of the brand, producing 10 issues of the magazine, two bookazines and four supplements annually.
- Oversee the entire editorial process: leading features conferences, producing flatplans, signing off briefs, editing copy, signing off layouts, reading proofs, working with the EIC on covers, and ensuring timely delivery of print products.
- Collaborate with the Multiplatform Director to optimize workflow for writers and editors across all brand platforms and KPIs.
- Assist the EIC and MD in creating and realizing the brand’s content strategy.
- Assist the EIC with cover strategy, including managing talent agent relationships and booking talent.
- Act as a leader for the WH team, running Monday morning conferences, supporting team KPIs, and line managing the Features Director, Fashion Editor, Beauty Editor, and Nutrition Editor.
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with WH US, exploring collaboration and content sharing opportunities.
- Work with Hearst’s Partnerships Lead to ensure high performance across platforms like Apple News and Readly, refining headlines and amplifying content.
- Deputize for the EIC in her absence, including managing cover shoots and signing off commercial briefs.
- Assist the EIC in liaising with Hearst’s commercial teams to realize potential revenue streams and partnerships.
- Approve and process invoices, ensuring print remains within budget.
- Assist in communicating the brands’ vision to internal and external PRs, agents, and clients.
- Promote the brand through media and public appearances when necessary.
- Act as an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.
- Take on additional responsibilities aligned with skills, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements
- Proven track record of running the print arm of a brand and managing a team.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure, multitask, and remain professional in fast-paced situations with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience commissioning and editing long-form health features.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to implement an efficient publishing process.
- Experience in budget management and cost control, with an understanding of revenue breakdowns.
- A thorough knowledge of and passion for the Women’s Health brand is preferred.

Salary/Compensations
- Circa £70,000 - Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.
