About the Role
The Medical Office Assistant serves as the customer service liaison, ensuring a seamless patient experience through efficient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing processes. In a clinical capacity, they provide patient care tasks under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients with courtesy and respect.
- Utilize exceptional communication skills.
- Manage patient registration.
- Handle patient scheduling.
- Perform insurance verification.
- Process billing.
- Perform patient care tasks under the direction of licensed healthcare providers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or direct patient care experience.
- Experience in collection of patient information and data.
- Experience in patient interactions.
- Experience assisting physicians with procedures in a medical office or hospital setting.
- Previous experience in a walk-in, primary care, or specialty care setting is preferred.
- Certified medical administrative assistant (CMAA) is preferred.
- Strong clerical background with excellent computer skills is preferred.
- Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.
