About the Role
SIDE is seeking a Project Assistant for its game audio localisation team in Tokyo. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a career in the games, audio, or localisation industry, supporting the localisation of overseas game titles for the Japanese market with a focus on voice and audio production. You will coordinate projects from initial planning through recording and final delivery, with opportunities to develop broader experience in project and production management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate project schedules with clients and internal teams
- Support voice actor casting activities
- Arrange and coordinate recording schedules
- Track project tasks, deadlines and dependencies
- Work closely with internal audio teams to keep projects moving
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Support some client and studio communication in English
- Keep project information, schedules and deliverables organised
- Support projects through to final delivery
- Respond to schedule changes and help ensure priorities are communicated clearly
- Gain exposure to broader audio production activities such as quality checks, editing, sound checking and preparation or management of delivery data as the role develops
Requirements
- Native-level Japanese communication skills
- Functional English for email, client and studio communication
- TOEIC 700 or a comparable level of practical English is a useful benchmark
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage several tasks, deadlines and changing priorities at the same time
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Reliable follow-up and a strong sense of responsibility for your work
- Willingness to learn new processes, tools and ways of working
- Genuine interest in building a career in games, game audio, localisation, voice production or a related creative industry
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in our Tokyo office five days per week
- Willingness to accept a 3-month fixed-term contract
