About the Role

As a Team Manager in a Waitrose shop, you will influence and motivate your team, acting as a role model for delivering outstanding Partner-led customer service. Your leadership will maximize sales and profit while earning customer trust and loyalty. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the shop.
  • Maximize sales and profit while minimizing wastage using commercial skills.
  • Ensure high levels of availability and merchandising.
  • Deliver an efficient, legal, and secure store operation.
  • Improve and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the team, including leading, inspiring, organizing holidays, and managing absences.
  • Create a supportive culture of care, belonging, pace, and productivity.
  • Engage and lead partners in delivering and embedding change consistently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Experience leading a team with a proven track record in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to build high-performing teams, recognize talent, and hold regular, honest performance conversations.
  • A passion for retail, understanding competitors and the economic factors impacting the Partnership.
  • Ability to assess workload realistically and adapt plans to ensure deadlines are hit and stakeholder relationships are maintained.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Benefits

  • Night Premium at a rate of £4.75 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 - 06:00.
