About the Role

As Director, Business Process Improvement, you will lead and continue to build CFA Institute’s enterprise BPI capability. You will establish the frameworks, methodologies and governance that help the organisation identify where processes can work better, understand root causes and design measurable improvements. You will lead a small team while working across the organisation as a trusted partner to business leaders. This is an opportunity to shape how process improvement is delivered at CFA Institute, taking an emerging capability and building the structure, consistency and approach needed to scale it across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mature CFA Institute’s enterprise Business Process Improvement capability, creating a repeatable approach that can scale across the organisation.
  • Establish and evolve the frameworks, methodologies, governance and tools used to identify, assess and prioritise process improvement opportunities.
  • Lead both current-state analysis and target-state design, helping teams understand where processes are breaking down and what better could look like.
  • Deliver and oversee process improvement initiatives that produce measurable improvements in efficiency, quality and organisational performance.
  • Define meaningful metrics and KPIs so that improvements and business impact can be clearly demonstrated.
  • Lead and develop a team of process improvement professionals, creating clarity, capability and consistency in how the team operates.
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units, technology, finance and programme management to identify needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to business teams, helping them work through process challenges rather than prescribing solutions to them.
  • Identify opportunities to use automation, data, technology and emerging tools to improve processes and operational effectiveness.
  • Build broader understanding of process improvement approaches and continuous improvement thinking across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading significant business process improvement, operational excellence or process transformation activity with measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience building, establishing or materially scaling a business process improvement capability, framework or operating model.
  • Strong practical knowledge of process improvement methodologies and frameworks, such as Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC or BPM.
  • Evidence of successfully analysing complex processes, identifying root causes and leading process redesign or optimisation.
  • Experience leading and developing people, with the ability to build capability within a small specialist team.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience partnering across multiple business areas in a complex organisation.
  • A collaborative and consultative approach: you can challenge constructively, listen carefully and help stakeholders determine what they need rather than simply prescribing an answer.
  • The ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, moving comfortably between setting the approach and supporting the work itself.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data and metrics to measure process performance and improvement outcomes.
  • Experience working with technology teams on automation, digital enablement or technology-supported process improvement.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
